Keynote Speaker:
Venessa Ree Gunby-Brown, a native of Lincolnton, Georgia, is no stranger to the business world. With an influential upbringing by her parents, the late Deacon Norris W. Gunby, Sr. and Katie Cummings-Gunby, formerly of McDuffie County. She is married to Quincy, and together, they have two sons, Jarren and Jordan, and one grandson, Jacarter.
Ree possesses a strong background in the funeral home industry and social services arena. She is a 1988 High School graduate of Lincoln County High School, she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and is a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science, Atlanta GA. Ree is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of Georgia. Ree was recently chosen as the 8th District Georgia Funeral Services Practitioners Association “Mortician of the Year” for 2025.
Ree has actively contributed to the betterment of her community as a licensed minister and active member of Faith Tabernacle Outreach Ministries in Lincolnton. She has dedicated many years of service to her congregation, including 15 years as a youth coordinator.
Following a successful six-year tenure in McCormick, South Carolina, Ree made the strategic decision to relocate her flower shop to Thomson, Georgia, driven by her faith, vision, and unwavering ambition to establish another successful florist in McDuffie County.
A favorite scripture of Ree’s, Jeremiah 29:11, which states, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
