Kenya Calhoun
President & CEO, Thomson-McDuffie County Chamber of Commerce
Before embarking on the dynamic role as the President and CEO of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce, Kenya devoted over two decades in the healthcare arena serving as a medical laboratory scientist, research facilitator, technical coordinator and application specialist, adjunct professor and program director. What began as a simple wish to learn more about her community, her desire to be more involved in the growth and success of McDuffie County intensified tremendously after completing the Leadership McDuffie program and serving five years on its board. Kenya is dedicated to utilizing her unique background in strategic planning, leadership, advocacy, education and community engagement skills to confront the challenges of a growing community.
Kenya is an alumnus of both Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina holding a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science respectively. When she’s not leading the initiatives that bolster the economic success of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber members, you can find her dancing in a myriad of public places, working out or taking a much-needed Sunday afternoon nap. She resides in Thomson with her favorite…and only daughter, Imani.
